ULTRASONIC LEVEL II REFRESHER MODULE

If you are to become proficient in ultrasonic testing, it is necessary that you understand what happens to the ultrasonic energy while it is passing through the test specimen. This unit discusses ultrasound transmission, search units, and principles of ultrasonic inspection.

The training is organized into ten lessons. The first two lessons cover the fundamentals of ultrasonics, to include the parts and nature of sound, as well as particle vibration modes and transducer operation. The next two lessons cover sound transmission. These lessons look into such things as physical and acoustic variables of sound transmission as well as reflection, refraction and mode conversion.

The next lesson covers common operating controls as well as general operation and maintenance of current Ultrasonic Testing Equipment. The next three lessons explore the different factors that can affect your ultrasonic inspections, provides information on Ultrasonic Test Standards and Reference Blocks and how they are used to ensure proper ultrasonic testing as well as different Ultrasonic Process Control Procedures. The last lesson explains the principles of thickness measurement as well as the different methods and equipment used in measuring part thickness.

Cost: $47.00 for a 3 month license
