UT Equipment USN 52

The Krautkramer Branson USN52 is a compact lightweight, state-of-the-art ultrasonic flaw detector. The unit may be used in a lab setting or in the field to locate and evaluate discontinuities in a wide variety of materials and to measure wall thickness from one side of the part. This training module, which consists of eight lessons, is designed to help you see the benefits of using the USN52 for your ultrasonic inspections.

The first lesson will introduce you to the benefits and purpose of the USN52, and provide you with general information on setting up the unit. The next three lessons will give you an overview of the features, including: the keyboard controls, displays, status symbols, alarm indicators and menus. You will then learn the purpose of calibrating the unit and general calibration function settings. This lesson will also show you how to use the Flaw Alarm/Measurement Gate and the DAC/TCG functions

The next lesson will show you how to operate the On-Board Data logger, including: logging readings into memory, selecting locations and reviewing readings, clearing and replacing readings, clearing files, and permanent storage. You will then learn how to calibrate the USN52 for digital thickness and distance measurement using various probes. The final lesson will give you the opportunity to use what you have learned about this unit to prepare for 3 sample applications.

Cost: $33.00 for a 3 month license
